The Lost Voice

Lost behind walls of sound
And raised objections
Belittled by reality's norms
And hidden behind social conformations
Another voice bites the dust...

Buried under the shrouds
Of expectation and unfulfilled dreams
The voice that once was...
...Now lay still...

But...feeble as it was
The voice persisted
It had a story to tell
A myth to fell
It had to rise from beneath the shrouds
And reach the pinnacle of success
It had to be...heard!

:) you know its very difficult to comment on poems. I've always been a fan of your pieces, and this is another. The one's i rmbr best from your collection are 'the fake' and i think something called 'circle of faith'?

Fan of my pieces??? You'll kill me at this rate...mine's never have any meaning to them...they just scratch the surface... And yeah, I liked those two, but I guess I just didn't feel like putting them up...I'm surprised you remember them..I'd forgotten about them, till this morning!

Hey T!

Been a long time since I managed to get your comments on this blog! Great to have you back (assuming that you will continue to do so *sheepish grin*)...

As for putting up the poems Divya's referring to... that'll have to wait till I get to MICA and fish them out from my notebook!

P.S. Is this the first time you're reading my attempts at "poetry"?

The beauty of the poem is that it picks up the subject so trivial and makes it so marvellous that after reading you feel something..yeah that something could be anything sorrow, happiness, disgust, attachment...etc and if it happens to reader poet has done her part... I think you have done your part beautifully in this poem.

Hey Neeraj,

Thanks for the comment. Given how good you are at writing poetry and all that, a comment from you feels great! :D

And now, to get back to doing SM (sheepish grin)... CoCo, any luck getting the assignment cancelled?
